One for the theme ‘Work’. Now that layoffs seem to be in the news almost every day I think this suites the theme quite well. Lighting was not optimal. I wanted to light it straight from the front but we didn’t have boom arm so it’s a little bit from the side. It looked like it needed some light also to the under the table so we added some fill there.
‘Keyboards’ got two UPI Gold Medals and ‘Curvy Road’ one Salon Bronze and UPI Praise from Serbia/Bulgaria.
My friend makes his own music. He had his birthday and first I could not figure out what to give him as a present. Then I thought that I could make some photos related to his hobby. He had already thought of getting some pictures so it fitted him well. We photographed photos in camera club studio. For the ‘stage’ shots I added elements from Kuopio Rock pictures to the background. I also made one picture that is a bit more graphical. I wanted four different pictures so he can use them in different situations.
We had both Fujifilm X-E1 with Fujinon XF35mmF1.4 R and Nikon D7000 with Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G in camera club studio so we took a couple of test pictures. With similar prime lenses they were easy to compare since cameras also have sensors that have same size (APS-C) and same resolution (16mpix). RAW files were converter with adobe camera raw with default settings and no sharpening. For my eye Fuji has less chromatic aberration and is a bit sharper. RAW files can be found here.
